It’s been a really busy few months, getting various new projects underway at work, and finishing off a couple of articles for publication. Not much time for blogging. However, this is a good place to re-blog something I wrote for Saltley Trust’s new project: Christians in Practice. This aims to understand what helps Christian disciples become involved in their local communities, and conversely how that involvement forms them in their discipleship.
We’re at the very earliest stages currently. Anyone interested to pilot a questionnaire survey in their church should contact us. Meanwhile, as we sift the current literature on church community involvement, here’s a short piece I wrote for the Christians in Practice blog on whether ‘members’ and ‘volunteers’ are the same thing. It’s been judiciously slightly edited by my colleague Simon Foster.
